The Impact:
One Tree Planted is working to restore forests, create habitat for biodiversity and make a positive social impact around the world. They have planted more than 40 million trees across the globe since 2014. To support these efforts, Herbal Essences has partnered with One Tree Planted to plant 50,000 native trees in British Columbia, Canada, in association with the Williams Lake Restoration Project. This project will reforest areas that burned in the 2017 Hanceville wildfire and the planted trees will provide various habitat values as well as re-establish communities and biodiversity.
Conservation and Reforestation in Canada:
Plants are the source of life. We know that trees clean our air by absorbing harmful pollutants, filter our water, prevent floods and landslides as well as strengthen biodiversity by providing habitats for millions of species, and protect the climate by capturing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Despite everything they do for us, 40% of plant species are at risk of extinction. Because Herbal Essences recognizes the power of plants, we are taking action to help protect biodiversity by partnering with One Tree Planted. This year, Herbal Essences will help “renew the forest” through reforestation so that future generations can continue experiencing the positive power of plants.
